We are getting closer and closer to finding out where these attacks are coming from.
Pennington Choices have a hacker within their local area which seems to be where the IP address that hacked our blog came from.
We have reported this to Joomla who will be looking into Pennington Choices administrator panel to see if the Hacker has left any viruses/programs that will enable them easy access back in.
PHD Media blog can handle hackers, it takes only a few minutes to have back up and live without de-ranking in Google.

As with our previous post regarding Pennington Choices (Pennington Consultancy) ’s website being hacked, our blog was hacked into last night via an IP from the University Of Southampton with a Safari browser.
However with Hackers they tend to use Universities IP to stop any trace back to themselves, however they always leave breadcrumbs. ;0)

We have finally got down to the bottom of the Website Hack on pennington.org.uk
In previous posts we stated that this hack was completed by a Token Validation Attack, Very simple to do if your website isn’t kept up to date ( Very Important To Back Up DATA) We contacted Pennington Choice Regarding this matter but due to the nature of this attack we cannot comment.
Remember Pennington Choices ( consulting) was built on Joomla 1.5.2, If you are on the same software as Pennington Choices we highly recommend to upgrade to at least 1.5.6.

Phd Media built Pennington Consulting (now Pennington Choices) a Content Management System last July, we offered free support and updating when ever they needed, as you all know how much we like to keep our clients happy, however most client use in-house IT guys to manage their content.
All is fine, if your happy we are happy.
Going back a few weeks now we were preforming a monthly check up of all our websites, making sure all pages were loading and non of the images were missing etc etc. We noticed that our Designed By PHD Media had been removed!
We were in Shock! We were hoping that the website hadn’t been hacked………………. We tried to login to the Admin Panel…….. Input Username _______-, Password ______ hit enter!……………………
“Login Detail Incorrect!”
Panic!….. However we managed to login using our back-up user details. (we set this up for emergencies only)
Once in, we set about checking all the file for modification and brute force, we notice that the Token Validation Hack had been used!
